The starting point for change is engaging in a process of deep examination of relevant issues, concerns and situations. While we often assume the ideal solution emerges from a commitment to contemplative moments, the reality lies in developing and implementing a formal process that identifies a number of possible solutions to address a specific problem. Solutions should be a product of collaboration where feasibility, resource requirements, implementation and technical components are considered, discussed, and vetted. A design thinking framework can be introduced to guide a change process predicated on problem definition and creative and critical exploration of possible solutions assisting individuals and schools to create a disposition for change and innovation. We work with schools to establish clarity of purpose and meaningful direction by engaging the community in thinking about institutional identity and organizational DNA to confront obstacles and engage opportunities.
